Japan Quantum Week 2026
It is a week when the world comes together in Japan.
Japan Quantum Week 2026 is a nationwide initiative that brings together researchers, students, industry, government, educational institutions, and the publicIt provides a platform for people from diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and countries to come together in Japan and advance quantum technology through research, collaboration, industry–academia partnerships, talent development, and dialogue with society.
Quantum technologies based on the principles of quantum mechanics—including quantum computing, quantum communication and cryptography, and quantum sensing—have the potential to create capabilities and value that are difficult or impossible to achieve with conventional technologies. Their development is expected to transform a wide range of industries and areas of society, including information and communications, healthcare, materials, energy, the environment, finance, and manufacturing.
Realizing this potential requires more than advancing cutting-edge research. It is equally important to foster interaction among researchers, nurture the next generation of talent, create new partnerships between universities, research institutions, and companies, and expand opportunities for engagement with diverse sectors of society.
Japan Quantum Week 2026 will therefore bring together a wide range of activities throughout the week. These may include research conferences and scientific symposia, workshops and networking events, industry–academia collaboration events, and activities that introduce quantum technology to the wider public. Japan Quantum Week 2026 is not simply a week to learn about quantum technology. It is a week for people to connect:
from research to industry,
from universities to companies,
and from experts to society.
It is a week:
for students and young researchers to take on new challenges,
for companies to discover new technologies and opportunities,
for different disciplines and sectors to collaborate,
and for society as a whole to explore the future of quantum technology together.
